DESCRIPTION
Ezee-Mix is a partially hydrolysed polacrylamide copolymer emulsion used to improve hole stability in reactive clay and
shale formations by encapsulation. Ezee-Mix may be used to prepare a solids free drilling fluid system with exceptional
hole stabilizing characteristics or used to improve the properties of foam injection fluids. Ezee-Mix will shear rapidly to
achieve good viscosity in fresh to mildly brackish make up water and will provide a high degree of lubrication to the
drilling fluid system.
APPLICATIONS/FUNCTIONS
Ezee-Mix forms a protective polymer film over the core where this protective film keep’s the clay metrics integrated and
not allowing it to disperse into the mud.
Ezee-Mix helps the walls of the bore hole to remain integrated by encapsulated film and restricting water invasion into
water-sensitive clays and shale. Ezee-Mix will reduce the stickiness of clays and shale and decrease problems associated
with collaring and bit balling. Ezee-Mix will help support unstable formations susceptible to hole collapse and poor
core recovery. Ezee-Mix is a versatile product used in many drilling application, it is used in low concentrations
and has beneficial properties to help reduce rod chatter and torque in a diamond drilling applications. When used in
low concentrations Ezee-Mix can be used as a flocculent to assist ultra fine cuttings settlement. Ezee-Mix is added to
foam injection systems to significantly improve cuttings transportation and penetration rates by increasing bubble strength
and retention.

RECOMMENDED TREATMENT
Ezee-Mix should initially be mixed at 1.0 – 4.0 litres per 1,000 L of make-up water. Depending on the salt content and as
drilling progresses the concentration of LIQUI-POL should be varied to provide the optimum viscosity for efficient
encapsulation of cuttings. Use of Soda Ash is recommended to treat the high hardness, if any, before mixing Ezee-Mix.
To improve the properties of a foam injection system add 1.0 – 2.0 litres per 1,000 L of make-up water prior to introducing
FOAM.
