DESCRIPTION
Sodium Chloride can be used as a weighting agent to increase fluid density to
10.0 pounds per gallon (SG 1.20) maximum.
A sodium chloride based drilling fluid can provide good inhibition against water sensitive clays and shales.
RECOMMENDED TREATMENT
The following table indicates sodium chloride concentrations to obtain a required fluid density.
