DESCRIPTION
EXTRA-GEL/BENTONITE viscosifier is a high yielding bentonite, specially processed to promote ease of mixing and superior mud mixing in fresh water.

APPLICATIONS/FUNCTIONS

• Controls filtration rates by forming a thin tough filter cake.
• Promotes hole stability in poorly consolidated and caving formations.
• Aids in over coming seepage and some loss of circulation in porous formations.
• Makes an economical, single sack, low solids drilling mud.
• Improves the hole cleaning properties of stiff foam and gel foam.

TYPICAL PROPERTIES


• * Appearance: Beige to tan powder.
• Specific gravity: 2.5 g/cm3 to 2.6 g/cm3

RECOMMENDED TREATMENT


• Normal drilling conditions, 15 Kg to 30 Kg/1000 litres water.
• In gravel or poorly consolidated formations, 35 Kg to 50 Kg/1000 litres water.
• To help over come lost circulation, 40 Kg to 60 Kg/1000 litres water.
• Mix by adding slowly through a venturi mixer or high-speed mixer.
• Allow sufficient time for the EXTRA-GEL/BENTONITE to fully yield for best results.
